to Helen Elgin America Spiral Large Silvery Compact
- Substantially well
made and still in its original presentation box from Marcus Jewelers
in Rutherford NJ, this Elgin America compact was a gift of love
a long time ago.
- Closure & hinge
working great.
- The top appears to
be a brushed soft (lighter than the photo) gold tone in a spiral
around the center, with the center and the engraving appearing
to be silver. This may be sterling but I cannot find a mark.
- Measures approx 3
3/4".
- Puff, powder (this
is EVERYWHERE) & screen all intact. Comes with soft Elgin
America cover & an extra Vani-Puf (unopened)
- Mirror is cloudy
with powder and also wavy. I have not cleaned.
- Please note the gold
is much softer than it appears in the photo, and the center where
Helen is engraved, is NOT red. This was a flash from the
camera.

weighty, these 3 buttons are gold tone twist design with handset
marquis & round rhinestones.
- Each button measures
just short of 1 1/2" & is slightly domed.

the rhinestones, could use a gentle cleaning, but overall impression
is very sparkly. Definitely fine quality.

Very
nice condition...the mesh is all intact. Could use a gentle cleaning
on the inside. Slight wear to the finish upon close scrutiny....still
VERY wearable!
